To edit or not to edit? That is the question.

As I learn more about photography I've started to think about the kind of photographer I want to evolve into. In what I have learned so far I have realized that a lot more work and knowledge goes into it than one would think and my appreciate for it has vastly increased!
Yesterday I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop Elements and have started to play around with it a little bit. Then this statement came to mind, "Anyone who is anyone with a camera can edit their pictures to look good" followed by this question, "Do I really want to spend my time editing pictures?".
I'm torn. In some ways I would like to focus on solely shooting good quality pictures and not having to spend much time editing them... on the other hand I see pictures that have clearly been edited and I absolutely love them.
Hmm.....

  1. I think... If you can...Why don't you see if their is a photography class nearby. I couple friends of mine took classes at a local college and loved it.

  2. It makes me really happy that you're getting into photography. You have the opportunity to capture so many beautiful things right now. You have a unique way of looking at things, not to mention how creative you are. I am positive you will do well with this venture. :)

Unfortunately though, I don't know anything about photography, so I have no advice to offer!
